What does ApoB mean?
ApoB stands for apolipoprotein B, a protein on the surface of the lipoproteins that transport cholesterol and other fats through the blood. There is exactly one ApoB molecule per transport particle.
That is what makes the value interesting. While LDL measures how much cholesterol is being transported, ApoB counts how many particles are in circulation. Two people can have the same LDL value and still carry a different number of particles. This is why ApoB is considered a particularly informative marker for the cardiovascular profile, often more precise than LDL alone.
The value responds well to diet, exercise and, where needed, medically supervised measures. At EVER Precision, ApoB is part of the standard panel and is measured again at the six-month retest, so you can see whether anything has moved.
What does Lp(a) mean?
Lp(a), spoken lipoprotein little a, is a lipoprotein whose concentration is largely genetically determined. Unlike LDL, it is barely influenced by diet or lifestyle.
That is precisely what makes it valuable. It adds information to the cardiovascular profile that other lipid values do not provide. Because Lp(a) practically does not change over a lifetime, a single measurement is usually sufficient.
An elevated value does not mean nothing can be done. It shifts the priorities: modifiable factors such as ApoB, blood pressure, exercise and diet then carry more weight. An out-of-range Lp(a) value belongs in medical hands for interpretation.
What is CRP sensitiv?
CRP sensitiv, often called hs-CRP, is a high-sensitivity inflammation marker. Classic CRP indicates acute inflammation, for example during an infection. The sensitive variant measures far more finely and thereby reveals low-grade, silent inflammatory processes that would otherwise go unnoticed.
For interpretation it matters that the value responds to acute infections. If you have a cold on the day of measurement, you get an elevated value that says nothing about your normal state. That is why CRP sensitiv is always read in context and repeated when it is out of range.
Because the marker responds comparatively quickly, it is well suited to tracking over time. At EVER Precision it is included both in the annual panel and in the retest.
What does HbA1c tell you?
HbA1c is long-term blood sugar. The value shows the average blood sugar over the past eight to twelve weeks. Unlike a single fasting measurement it is robust, because it does not depend on whether you had breakfast on the morning of the blood draw.
That makes it well suited to observing metabolic balance over time. Because the value changes slowly, measuring every three to six months makes sense. Measuring more often adds no further insight.
Clearly elevated values belong in medical assessment, not in a supplement plan.
What does Ferritin mean?
Ferritin is the storage form of iron and shows how well iron reserves are filled. That is relevant for oxygen transport, energy and performance, and a common reason for persistent tiredness.
One particularity: ferritin also rises during inflammation. A normal or high ferritin value alongside an elevated CRP sensitiv can therefore mask an iron deficiency. This is exactly why both values are looked at together.
Very high values can indicate iron overload and belong in medical assessment. In that case, iron supplementation would be the opposite of helpful.
Which blood markers matter for longevity?
Longevity-oriented diagnostics looks less at acute signs of disease and more at factors that play out over decades. Four areas stand out.
For the cardiovascular profile, ApoB and Lp(a) are considered particularly informative, because they capture particle count and a genetically fixed additional factor. In metabolism, HbA1c shows how stable blood sugar regulation is over weeks. For inflammation, CRP sensitiv reveals chronic low-grade processes that are associated with ageing. And for nutrient status, Vitamin D, B12, Ferritin and magnesium matter, because a lasting insufficient supply strains many systems at once.
More important than any single value is the trajectory. A snapshot says little about whether things are moving in the right direction. This is why repeated measurement over years makes more sense than a single very broad panel.
